Ballad of the Broken String

Figured I’d post a rough take of a song idea I had.  Not sure where I’ll take it, but I like the energy of this chord progression…  whatever that means. :)

Click this thingy to make it play:

Edit:  I’ve added a (rough) lead part to this.  I spent way, way, way too much time getting it right, and I still think there are things that need to be redone… I guess that’s the curse off being a bloody perfectionist.

Sounds like a good start. It makes me think of background music for a movie or TV show. It seems to have several “scenes” in it.

    0:00 – 0:59 Sounds like background music for a sad/quiet moment
1:00 – 2:42 Sounds like music for a chase or other action scene
2:43 – 3:20 Sounds like opening theme music
3:21 – 5:08 Sounds like another action scene, but more dire
5:09 – 6:04 Sounds a bit like ending theme music

The first section is my favorite, followed by either the second or third section.

I hope you continue to develop this.

Neat! I’ve never heard your music before; you’re so good! I really enjoyed listening to this.

I like the first part the best, maybe because it was moodiest while being subtle. It does sound Floyd-y. It gives me the feeling of being on the deserted outskirts of a big city, in the evening or at night. (Some other rock bands make me feel that way, too…)

Anyway, I think this is time well spent. Have a good weekend!
